Subunit of COMPASS (Set1C); a complex which methylates histone H3 on lysine 4 and is required in telomeric transcriptional silencing; promotes meiotic DSB formation by interacting with H3K4me3 and Rec107p, a protein required for Spo11p-catalyzed DSB formation located on chromosome axes; interacts with Orc2p; PHD finger domain protein similar to human CGBP, an unmethylated CpG binding protein; relocalizes to cytosol in response to hypoxia [Source:SGD;Acc:S000006059]
