What is the meaning of the red, black, and peach colours in the gene sequence?

The genomic sequence of any gene in Ensembl is shown in the Gene tab, under Sequence in the left hand menu. The default display shows the exons and introns in addition to the flanking sequence. All exons in the region are highlighted in peach colour. Exons that belong to the gene of interest are shown in red letters.

Other exons can belong to neighbouring genes, or genes on the opposite strand of your favourite gene, for example, are shown in black letters.
